On September 19, 2008, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker was involved in a plane crash that left him with life-changing injuries and took the lives of four of the six people on board. The private Learjet 60, operated by Global Exec Aviation, was preparing for takeoff from Columbia Metropolitan Airport in South Carolina, bound for Los Angeles, California. Barker was travelling with his security guard Charles "Che" Monroe Still Jr., personal assistant Chris Baker, and friend and collaborator, disc jockey Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein.
